UK regular season review

DESPAIR

What an ugly team.

Who is Gardner-Webb, a law firm?

W-W-W; there is potential here, but they just don’t look good.

77-86 vs UNC, but it wasn’t that close.

Against IU we just were not very good.

UAB and Houston, simply demoralizing.

Tenn-Tech and San Diego at home: 1-1, enough said.

New Year’s Eve gimme.

Louisville flat out kills us.

TURNING THE CORNER

We knock off the 16th ranked Commodores.

1-2 in the SEC, this is beginning to look familiar.

CHARGING HOME

Tennessee goes down!

W-W-W-W

Backsliding against Vandy.

W-W-W-W ; I am becoming enamored of this team, then our freshman horse goes down.

Gallant effort against Tennessee on their floor; I am fully enamored with this team.

W-W.

Loss to Georgia in the SEC tourney after a quick reschedule.

Tornado’s, defections, injuries, etc are not part of the equation. I think extremely highly of this team. No matter what the NCAA tourney committee decides on for our future fate, this team has landed on my top five all-time favorite Kentucky Team list. Early in the year, I complained of no heart, no toughness. Since the SEC conference schedule began, this team showed me more of that than any team I can remember. The more obstacles that got thrown in their way, the tougher they played.

Great Season UK! Let’s make a run through the post-season.

Late note: Two big kudos for UK Cats. To John Pelphrey’s Arkansas team for beating Tennessee and making the SEC finals and to Tubby Smith. Seeing him out on the floor celebrating Minnesota’s last second shot was real fun to watch.
